Production & Procurement Controller

ABC is undergoing a significant transformation to prepare for significant growth in 2024, as part of the growth we are now seeking to appoint a Production & Procurement Controller to join our team. Reporting to the Lean Manager and working collaboratively with a varied range of teams within the business to provide necessary support to the operations team to ensure the efficient operation and execution of the manufacturing process.

Assisting the Lean manager to;

• Process new customer orders on the ERP system
• Liaise with key customers on open orders (planned/overdue/future orders)
• Generate cutting & production schedules
• Liaise with production, inspection & management to ensure plans are executed effectively
• Attend and contribute to daily production meetings with the Production team
• Create work instructions for production
• Prepare invoices and customs documentation for dispatch
• Monitor stock levels of raw materials and place orders when required to ensure production is not interrupted and where possible forecast requirements based on stock and order levels
• Order materials based on material planner workbench
• Order materials via Kanban system
• Review & follow up on overdue purchase orders
• Produce written reports and make presentations for management team
• Perform root cause analysis and resolve problems
• Use ERP/MRP software to significantly aid the execution of improvement projects
• Undertake special projects as assigned by the management team

Skills and Attributes;

• Relevant experience in a similar role
• Understand manufacturing processes and have experience in a busy environment
• Experience of using an ERP/MRP software
• Experience in material management/warehousing
• Ability to react to and prioritise activities for the project/business needs
• Manage your own workload and taking responsibility for it
